Meet the Doctors
Stephen P. Leff, M.D.
Dr. Leff received his B.S. in Zoology from Michigan State University in 1965 and his M.D. from the University of Rome, Italy in 1971. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology in Detroit at Sinai Medical Center in 1976. He has been in private practice since 1976.
Dr. Leff is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology . He is a past Chairman of the Board of Decatur Hospital. He is presently Chief of Ophthalmology at Decatur Hospital and past President of the Dekalb County Medical Society.
Dr. Leff has been featured in the “Top Docs” edition of Atlanta Magazine for his expertise in cataract surgery and wonderful “bedside manner”.
Dr. Leff specializes in cataract surgery and LASIK vision correction.
Gayle Leff Goldstein, M.D.
Dr. Leff Goldstein received her B.A. in Psychology from Boston University in 1991 and her M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in 1997. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology in Detroit at the Kresge Eye Institute in 2001.
Dr. Leff Goldstein is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Leff Goldstein has been in private practice since 2001 and sees patients of any age group from infants to seniors. She specializes in cataract surgery, eyelid plastic surgery and LASIK vision correction.
Bharti Bathija-Lala, O.D.
Dr. Bathija-Lala received her B.S. in Biology from St. John's University in 2002. She received her Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) from the State University of New York (SUNY) State College of Optometry in 2005.
She completed her Residency in Ocular Disease and Special Testing from SUNY in 2006.
Prior to joining Georgia Ophthalmology Associates, she has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY. She has presented posters at the American Academy of Optometry in 2005. She has also authored papers on Diabetes, Cataracts and Glaucoma.
